History of the
Studio:
Grace Notes Music Studio, LLC (formerly Grace Notes Violin
Studio, LLC) was founded by Genny Denton—owner and
violinist/violin instructor. The studio
officially opened on May 2, 2008 and originally accommodated
only violin students. In April of 2010, the name of the studio
was changed to reflect the growing number of course offerings.

Inside the studio, there is an art gallery featuring the work
of local artists. Their work enhances the atmosphere of the
studio and is also available for purchase. If you are a local
artist interested in hanging your art, please contact the
owner directly for more information. GNMS does not charge
commission or hanging fees.
Grace Notes Music Studio has formal recitals, receptions, and
dress rehearsals at St. Alban's Chapel on the LSU campus.
Technology in Instruction:
Not only does the studio offer online registration and payment
methods, students and parents benefit from many other
technological resources. Music composition software, music
theory and history programs, digital audio and video software
and recording capabilities are available to students in the
studio.Additionally, DVDs of all recitals and performances are
made for families, and instructional CDs are distributed to
private lesson and group class students. Future technology
plans for the studio include: a computer lab for music
composition and a keyboard lab to aid in music theory
instruction. Grace Notes Music Studio intends to begin work on
these two projects within the next year.
Community and Service:
Grace Notes Music Studio is large enough to have a great sense
of community and friendship through music, but is also small
enough to meet the individual needs of all students. In
contrast to big academy-style programs that offer lessons on
every instrument, Grace Notes maintains a narrow focus to
ensure the highest quality instruction available.
Additionally, Grace Notes Music Studio supports the idea that
music students should share their talents and their abilities
with others. The studio regularly gives service concerts to
assisted living and other health care facilities in the
area.
Grace Notes Music Studio firmly believes that solid social
relationships can enhance the far-reaching effects of music,
and can strengthen the desire to pursue music study. Adults
enrolled in private lessons and group classes have strong
friendships, and they regularly plan social activities outside
of class meetings.
Children in the studio also have close bonds to one another,
and are provided with a variety of out of class activities to
strengthen these bonds. Parties, get-togethers, social
outings, and service projects are normal and regular parts of
every session of study.
